Oil pressure

A couple of times the oil pressure gauge failed to register after starting. I would turn it off and restart 2 or three times before it would read. This seems to have occurred on cooler days of 40deg. I'm running new Mobile 1 10-30.

This began after installing a Walmart STT oil filter. Question how do I determine if it's actually the oil pump failing,or a sensor. I suppose I could start by putting a MC filter back on.

Advice appreciated.

well mabe check the oil sending ununit or the wireing to the ununit or it just is that the gauge is cold. take a look at all that and see a friend of mine on his ford has to beet the dash to get his to work.
