heater core
i was wondering what is involved in changing the heater core in my 78 f150 w/ac? it looks easy to remove the heater box since its under the hood. im not sure if i have to remove anything inside. is it easy? ive done one in my 76 w/o ac, its wasnt to bad. of course it waits till its 5 degrees before it fails, thats expected though.

ive never changed one, but from what i understand from the posts ive read on here you have to get to it from inside on these a/c models, i could be wrong, there was alot of talk about heater cores a couple weeks ago, you might find them pretty easy if you flip through the pages.........

I just got done doing a heater core in my 79 w/ac, I really wasn't all that bad. First I drained about 2 gallons of coolant, than took off the heater hoses. Than take out the glove box and door. Take off the heater ducts. take all the bolts off of the case and cold air intake. make sure to get all the bolts, some are a little hidden. take off the cover. than go back under the hood and wiggle the outer case till it comes loose. there is a drain tube coming off of the bottom, you can get to it from the fender well. it should all come apart after that. I replaced the blower motor too, just because its so hard to get to, and they are pretty cheap. Good luck. Jesse
