c6 is acting up again.

I put in a used c6 and now its starting to slip in second so does anyone know of a tranny guy somewhere in the mid tn area who is reasonable. Dont want to spend a fortune on this old truck! Or if you have a used c6 for sale I may just change it out again. Thanks!

I have a C6 in my blue truck I was thinking of trading out for an AOD (for better mileage) but it won't happen for a while yet. It's too wet and sloppy out there, and I have a gravel drive. I'll remember you if I do pull it though, it hasn't messed up on me yet, but it did come from a salvage yard when I got it.

- I'm out of South Tipton County, all the way west.

Have you tried doing a BAND ADJUSTMENT on it?

It suddenly occurred to me that second is an odd gear to lose if the tranny was going. It always seemed to me (if I remember right...) that C6's are sorta bulletproof, and when they start to go out it would be the top gear that would slip first.

You might want to hop over to the transmission forum here and see if theres anything you can do to save it!

Like greywolf said try a band adjustment. If that don,t solve the problem open it up. you,ll probly find the clutches worn very thin and not enough travel left to keep them locked up. Get a good book that covers every part in that tranny. They are not to complicated when you have the right bible for it.The right book can save alot of money and heartachs

Here, here!

And you have to have the book, if you're going to do it right.
The directions are pretty simple...
(Good on ya, junkman!)
