Filled the tanks this morning. It was probably 25 degrees out truck started right up. Let it warm up for 5 minutes while I removed the snow plow drove 10 miles to get diesel.
After fueling start the truck seems like its missing on a couple of cylinders -- sit at the pump for a few minutes till it smooths out. Drive 30 miles after that at 2400 rpms SURGED a few times after pulling away from pump but did not cut out. Drained some water from the fuel filter/water seperator when I got to work. Any ideas on what to check first? I have to tow a trailer 300+ miles on Monday thinking of renting a truck so I'm not left hanging on the highway somewhere. The truck started flawlessly till I re-fueled. I'm guessing I have water in the tanks, air in the system, return line issues or all of the above.
Draining water from the filter? While truck is running do you open bottom drain till fuel comes out?
