Custom from bumper
anybody in here build there front bumper?? there was one a while back but i lost all thoose pics when my hard drive died a few months back, now im almost ready to get goin on it. the pile of iron in the garage is just screamin to be on the truck. thanks guys, looking to build a ranch hand style front that i can put a winch in on my 97.

I have built and used the same front bumper for the last 25 years. It is a two piece bumper that has a winch mount. The main frame bolts to the chasis and then the winch bolts to that and the bumper sits around the entire mount/winch. Have used to push over 3" dia trees for years. Also use as an anvil to straighten my iron pins that I use for proptery corners.
Also has plow mounts fabicated to attache to it and add to its strength. Is a little heavy, maybe 3-400 lbs total with winch and plow mounts.
Just swapped \it from my 82 to my 97 last saturday. That is the 5th truck it has been on. It will fit both Fords and ch###. Have pulled 80,000lb semis with it. It has chain hooks on the under side. ALso used to push 22' roll-off trash containers that were full and 8 feet high.

i'm headin out right now actually to finish my bumper...beenin the raw for several months since i broke my finger in november and the welder givin me problems. cool weather though right now so i'm gonna hit it hard tonight. will post pics when i'm done
