It has been suggested because of the 400 FPT my 300 I-6 puts out that I should start looking for a Complete Ford 9.5 rearend, it was also stated that these would be hard to find.
Anybody have any ideas about locating one?

Thank'ee for your reply.
The "Olde Girls" engine also produces 300HP w/ a 10:1 CR & she's now about 308 or 312 C.I.'s
How does this combination sound then, Equaloc & 3.25 gears w/ an HD Yoke.
Thank'ee

Sounds good, but you don't really need a heavier yoke, a 1330 will get the job done fine, in my flareside (9" rear, 3.25's and posi, only has the 28spline axles though, but it had the gears I needed) i'm pushing 350hp and near 450lb of tq in a built windsor, i drive er' hard and other than the nasty wheel hop (i have tractions bars to install for that little problem) i haven't had a problem with it and i shouldn't either, i also have the parts to convert it to rear disc brakes which will get done this summer.
A 1330 is the size of your u-joint, most half tons (like 2wds) will use a 1310, which is weaker, but works fine in most stock and semi moded applications (you would be able to use one without problems i would think), a 1330 u-joint was used in heavier 1/2 tons (like a 4wd for ex) and 3/4-1 tons, then there are 1350, 1410's, etc, the higher the number the stronger the u-joint. If i were you, when you swap in the new rear i would get a shop to cut the old yoke and weld a new 1330 joint back on, then ask them if your yoke that you have (or will have anyway) is a 1330 or a 1310, then if its a 1310 they should be able to get you a 1330 are tell what-where to get one from.
A good place to get parts from for your mercs (your lucky the just put a bunch of new laws and you can't import merc trucks anymore without going through a lot of work) would be lmctrucks.com. (free cataloug too)
Thank'ee for the Intele.
I've the latest LMC Cat. & I do not recall Merc. badges & such.
That's not good to see this about that new law.
I've a '58 M-100 Panel Truck that I need to retrieve from Elma, Manitoba.
What kind of Red Tape & Hoops am I going to have to jump through?
Cheers

well if you have already bought the truck i would start getting ahold of some brokerage's on the border crossing that the truck would be brought through, they will know what to do, but offhand i couldn't really tell what you will have to do, it has that mercury didn't make trucks in the states and such, i know that there are other types of vehicles that have this problem as well, its doable by all means, just a pain in the but.
I've been attempting to Make room for her here for about 9 months now & not being very successfull @ it.
What would these brokerages be Listed As or Under?
That's funny, because that's exactly how Uncle purchased the M-100 from a So. Cal. Dealership.
He'd seen a truck load of them that Father was delvering down to Mexico & went to the Local Ford/Merc. Dealership & stated that he wished to own one.
He had it w/ in the week.

They would be under brokerages in the yellow pages (not the type that arre in the stock market), but usually you can call the custom's building at the border crossing and they should be able to refer you to a broker.
