I recently bought a '91 XLT 4x4, extended cab, auto., 65K. It's my first pick-up (I'm usually a sports coupe kind of guy) and my first Ford since I owned a '65 Falcon in the '70's. Anyway, I enjoy driving the Ranger when I can get it away from my two sons.
The truck has a cargo light above the bed but no third brake light. Is there a combination brake/cargo light from another year that would fit up there with a minimum hassle? I'm in an area with a fair amount of traffic and wouldn't mind having that extra light. Thanks!
Some years got them depending on the model, I have it on my 2000 & 2002 but the cab shape is different, anyone have a late 80s/early 90s with a high mounted brake light?
If I remember correctly, Ford didn't start putting the third brake light on until the '93 models, when they changed the body styles, and the Mazda's and the Ranger's started looking alike.
I recently owned a 92 ranger and bought an aftermarket 3rd brakelight (LED) from Autozone that fix perfectly between the cargo light and the rubber trim around the rear window. It was very snug so it slid right in and never came out. And the LED's looked VERY nice.
