Its a crock. There are only a certian number combinations that it can be and if you figure out a few of them and compare them they are the same symbol. The symbols also change every time so it doesn't look obvious.

It drove me nuts as I knew it was something like that but I had to figure out all the possible numbers (9,18,27,36,45,54,63,72,81) Maybe this means I have to much time on my hands.

I had seen it before, sat there for 2-3 minutes looking at the number combos and was like, oh ok, i see it now, the rest of my family was amazed about it and drove them nuts for hours until i explained it to themi was 16 at the time, 15yr old stepsis, 35 yr old dad, and 39 yr old stepmom, and i figured it out before them, I felt special
