This is also where you can "susbscribe" to the real deal technical info
If you were ever curious about how many PCM "codes" there are, follow the second link where the instructions lead you through a very convoluted process to determin what the latest calibration "catchword and module is based on where you started. I was flat out astounded to see over 30 "codes" aka "catchwords" for my 2001 6.8L v10 PCM

- Find the tear tag on the vehicle. It is a white tag located on the module or in an easily accessible place such as the doorjamb or engine cowl. The tag contains a four-digit letter/number combination (e.g.: VCS0), called the "catchword." Record this value.

They're on my Fav's now...like I really needed another eye-bugging, time-stealing site to stare at...
But being a Maintenance Analyst - that's just what I'll DO!!!You do realize that I'll be chiming in asking you bookoos of questions, now don't you?
I did read the entire OBII spec and if you are any kind of on the ball with modern electronics and logic trees LOTs and LOTs of lights will pop on in your head about why our trucks do some of the weird things they do.
Caution knowing too much can be a hazard. Soon you will be watching the POST (power on self test) of turning on the SuperDuty and start thinking boot and re-boot. It sucks that now I drive a V10 powered PC and wounder if it has got Intel or AMD under the hood, or how fast is the RAM?

I get a strange smell coming from the proximity switch on the lower end of my cerebella, which triggers massive amounts of raw data into an old tape loop that needs constant care and maintenance.
