My dealer said my vibration was measured @ .4-.5 , but was within spec. Does anybody with the vibe problem know what theirs measured out as? I don't expect the truck to ride like a car, but I still don't think my vibe is normal. This is my 7th pick up and I have never felt this in any others Ford and GM.

Man, its sounds like I'm in the exact same boat as you guys and probably many others. My truck is at the dealer as I write this thread. They have had it all week since 2/7/05. Fortunately my dealer hasn't given up...yet! This is the fourth time I've had it in for just vibe problems. What they've told me so far is that they have "revised parts to rebuild the rear end." I'm not sure if that means a complete rebuild or just a ring and pinion gear. Just a message on the answering machine. That was the only update I've gotten from them in the last 4 days.
Anyway, no one has quoted any vibration measurments to me, however if this latest fix does not work, I'm pretty sure they will try to hide behind the "vibration is within specs" line. When I finally get it back, I wll definitely let you guys know how it went.
The dealer on my first visit measured it @ 25, balanced the tires and said it was 12. All the while it has felt the same to me. They said it was measuredfrom 30 mph to 70. I wonder if what the told me is an average. My vibe is present from 45-52? mph
I was told that the slight Vibration in the '04 F-150 has something to do with the driveshaft (my truck is going into the shop on monday for this replacement)
I'm wondering if they have measured the vibe in my truck. Mine is present from 45-62, worst at 58.
My driveline vibration was between 45-65 too, max @ 62 after 65 the steering wheel nibble would start. The DSB made Ford buy back my 04 Scab XLT because Ford could not stop the driveline vibration and steering wheel nibble.
Well, as promised, I want to share the outcome of my truck's weeklong visit to the dealership for its latest vibration fix. I picked it up this morning, 2/11/05 after dropping it off on Monday, 2/7/05. I went for a test drive with one of the mechanics that worked on it and... I gotta tell ya, at least for as much as driven it so far, the vibe seems to be gone!! I'm not too excited yet because I posted a thread last September where I had just gotten my truck back from 3 days at the dealer. That time they rebalanced the tires, replaced the driveshaft and replaced the clutch packs. I thought the vibe was fixed then, but obviously it came back. So you can understand why I hesitate to get all amped up this time.
Back to what they did this time. All I could get out of my service advisor all week was that they were going to rebuild the rear end. To what extent, she didn't know. It turned out to be just the ring and pinion gears. So I thought why did they need 4 days just to do that. During my test drive I grilled the mechanic and he layed it all down for me. Turns out, they balanced and indexed all the wheels and tires, replaced another rear driveshaft (4th one, factory one and 3 others) and replaced the ring and pinion gears.
Anyway, at least for now, it rides better than it ever has. But will it last?? I'll keep you posted.

since the dealer said they would not do anything else to my truck I called for a DSB application yesterday. They said my vibe is within spec now. I wonder why hey did all the work that they did if that was the case. My truck vibes the same since day one when the salesman said the tires just need mileage and were flat spotted from the transport.
During your hearing did Ford say your truck vibrated? Did they give a measurement?
I saw someone mentioned the parking brake caused their vibe. I set mine yesterday when I parked on a small hill. Got back in and released it, started driving and had a bad vibe starting at 35-40. I rememberd seeing that post so I set the brake as I was slowing down, released it and the vibe was gone. Thought it was worth mentioning. Sorry for all your problems...good luck.
Got my 2004 4X4 screw back from dealer today. This was the 4th visit for vibration issues. previously replaced drive shaft, ring and pinion and clutch packs. Three days ago when I took it in for service I mentioned TSB 04-25-07 and 8. Day one the service mgr. said the truck felt fine. No EVA was used because they didn't have one at that shop but their sister dealer across town did. Day two the service advisor called and stated the EVA was unavailable today but the Ford engineer will be in town tommorrow and he will check the truck. Well he drove the truck a said it was fine. The mechanic asked if he should follow the procedures in the TSB and the engineer said "no". He did agree to replace and balance the front tires. I asked the mechanic why the TSB is not being followed. The only answer he had was, if I run those tests a find nothing Ford will not pay for the testing. Tires are on order and they want to know if I still feel I have a vibe issue after replacing the front tires. Anyone up to a Bet?

The DSB sent an independent engineer to my office. He drove the truck and agreed with every thing I was telling the board. He drove two new like trucks from my local dealer's lot the same day and they had no vibrations. He concluded that my truck was not "Normal" like the FSE had reported.
those .4-.5 are G reading THESE ARE NOT HTZ .5 G WOULD MEAN ABOUT20HTZ these readings are on the TSB.take it back offer to drive the test is easy to do. tell them you will drive 20 miles before the test EVA MACHINE is a small hand unit one end plugs into 12 volt power other lead is a magnet.it goes on seat base. Thanks for the info, now I don't feel like I am being unordinarily picky. I do love the pavement excuse, but they can't tell you is why it only does it @ certain speeds.
