taillights

Can you really tell the year of a truck by the taillights?

no they made many taillights the first couple of years. then just kept using them. my 79 came from factory with 1975 on the tailights

hmmm I just bought a '73 according to title but the lights say '74 could be a replacement I guess.

yea, with something that old, the bed coulda been replaced, the lens could have been replaced, any number of things

73's had a two piece tail light the lense was seperate from thye reflector and the reflector was metal the later models used a one piece plastic unit the metal ones rotted out faily quick

74 I believe. My 76 has one 2 piece and one 1 piece

I just changed my 75 to 1 piece,,but it had one of each also,,,altho the two piece was spliced in
