I Have A 96 Psd W/auto Trans. Was Sitting At Idle, Then Just Died. It Spins Over Fine, Will Even Try To Start With Wd40. Seems To Have Fuel To Injectors, If You Push The Schrader Valve When Turning Over It Sprays Fuel. I Have Been Told It Is Most Likley The Cps. Is This Tthe Likley Problem? And Is There A Way To Check It Before I Spend $125.00.
the tach moves up about 1/8", but it doesn't appear to be showing rpm. it just moves up to that point and stays steady untill you stop cranking the engine over.

You know, that very same thing happened to me today on my way home from work. I was sitting at a stop light, and then it just died. Put-er in park and she started right back up (1997 auto/PSD w/60,000 mi). After searching this forum, I too figured it was the cps. I went outside to start it, and it fires up so quick I can't tell if the RPMs are lacking or not. I mean the needle moves up while cranking, but.....I don't know.
