EGR question

Was reading a few posts about the EGR system on the 6.0 engines... My question is how does the system work? On a naturally asperated engine when the valve opens the vacuum in the intake allows the higher pressure exhaust to enter the intake. But on a turbo engine the pressure is higher in the intake than the exhaust side so how does the exhaust gas get into the intake?
Thanks,
-Phil

That's a good question but I have had mine disconnected for some time now and notice no difference in performance or fuel economy. It is sad to think one needs to bypass pollution control equipment, but I did it because of all the issues I have read on this forum. I look forward to someone answering though.

When exhaust pressure is greater than the boost. You have MAP=manifold absolute pressure and EP=exhaust pressure sensors. Look in the ....Tech Folder.... at the start of this forum, read the 6.0L bible. It is a good document for understanding how this engine works.
