Thermostatic choke question

Can someone please give me a detailed explaination on where the heat tube (the only explaination I can think of) plugs into the manifold. I know one side goes into the thermo. choke and a steal/copper line runs somewhere else. I bought my '80 F150 Flareside 4x4 for something to toy around with in the mud. The truck oringinally came with the 300 ci, but when it got tired the previous owner dropped in a 302 from a '75 F150. Unfourtunatly he never connected the heat tube, just capped it off at the carb. When it's cooler out the choke does not open all the way, causing drivability problems. I have looked eveywhere, but can not see where to tap the line into. Any and all help would be great.

p.s. best $400 bucks I ever spent.

Thermostatic choke question

My 80 had a fitting on the passenger side manifold. But if he changed engines, he might not have put the right manifold on it. Maybe you can rig a little chamber out of sheetmetal and bolt it on with one of the manifold bolts or studs. Really all that's going on is the line is a controlled vacuum leak through the carb. It draws air that is warmed by the manifold through the tube into the choke chamber to assist in opening the choke.

Thermostatic choke question

I had wondered that myself, really hard to say what the manifold came off of. I'll see what I can rig up.
