I was wondering if anyone knew of a lift kit for a 1979 f-150 4x4 supercab. All the kits I'm finding are for regular cabs w/ front coils. Even the local dealers can't find one.
The truck is sitting stock right now. I am planning on putting on a set of 35's and also trying to improve the ride so I dont want to use a body lift.
Or can someone tell me if there is an easier (cheaper) method of swapping springs or something of that nature.
You will want to buy a kit for an F250. Supercab F150's used a heavier frame and leaf springs up front . . . the F250 kit will bolt up perfectly.
You'll definitely want springs up front. Do a search for "shackle flip" or look in my gallery for the shackle flip. This is a good CHEAP alternative for the rear of the vehicle. Depending on the height lift you'll need to look into things like brake lines, shocks, drivelines, steering, etc.
I lifted my 79 super cab 4x4 using a 79 f250 spring kit from rough country. I only went 2" because I only tow a boat and camper with mine, no real offroading and I'm only running 33" tires. Everything was a direct bolt in.

I am extremely happy with the ride. I ended up removing the bottom factory leaf spring in the rear. The reason I did this was that with the lift the truck ended up with a slight rake to it where the front was lower than the rear. I like my truck to sit level. I think this also really helped the ride. It's just firm, but not harsh. It rides as good as the new F150's and even better than my Dad's 2000 light duty F250. The only thing about rough country that I didn't care for was the fact that the shocks have started to rust already. I only have about 800 miles on the truck and it isn't ever driven in snow or salt only the rain. I figure a shock like this should have a better finish that. I will buy them again for the ride, but I will clear coat them befor I put them on.

Not sure if it helps any, but I have a 79 f150 ranger supercab that I just picked up, and the previous owner had 35 12.50s on it, and they worked just fine with the stock suspension. No rubbing or anything. So if your main motivation is to fit 35's, you may not need a lift.
