It has lockers and i think 4.88 gears as well, but about a month after that picture was taken the guy left it at work and (the guy that owns the semi is his boss, and at the time of this story they were lifting their shop up to be able to get semi's indide it) the next moring his boss told the kids that were helping him lift the shop up to get more and to take an old dodge car, but they took the truck and rolled it on the way back with a 1 or the three huterite kids getting hurt pretty bad, needless to say the huterite colonly is rebuilding the truck for him and it should be about finished by now.
i can just leave the truck in NC at our property, that's no problem. i just wouldn't want to.
Hell I dont blame you, if I could figure out exactly where its at someone might be out of a dana 60 ..... j/k..... no seriously you can leave your truck at my place and just pick it up when you decide to go to tellico...
I've had bad experiences with chains and tow bars, I dont like pulling/towing anything without a trailer.... except this one time when I hauled an s-10 in the bed of my current truck, lol cab and frame and bed....
I think you would be allright using the car haulin trailer, if it is the wider style. I have a 20 footer and it carries my truck and all the other paraphanalia associated with mudbogging just fine.......And I pull it with my 98 F150 4x4.
Look around used, I had a buddy that was looking for one and I came up with a 20' GN for him for $1750. It wasn't very pretty and needed a set of taillights, but a couple gallons of paint and some trailer lights are cheap. Think he wound up doing it all for just under 2000.
Look around for guys that rebuild combines and tractors, I always get my best deals through them. They may not have one right then and there, but they have connections.
I've never used a tow bar only tow dolly's.. But a few have stated how difficult it was to stop using a tow bar espically with a toad weighting the same as the tow vehicle... they have braking systems for toads the only one I can think of is the brake buddy... but most assisted braking systems are not cheap. As far as sway there are fairly newer tow bars that help with this. Most rv's that pull toads have a fairly expensive setups to do this. Another thing you have to look at is the size comparison of the rv and toad. With our tow dolly on my grandparents E450 v10 27" motorhome you can't feel the toad at any time, have to do frequent checks to make sure it's still back there. I've pulled a festiva and aspire on the tow dolly with my f150 supercab lariat and I only it braking on steep hills did I feel it. But if you pulling a off-roader i'd personally use a trailer. Question... Could you rent a trailer from U-Haul? I've seen some people using them. Eric

i have looked at the trailers from Uhaul and my truck won't fit on them most small cars are a tight fit. I had to laugh at the comment about having to do frequent checks to see if the car was still behind the RV, my folk went down to Yuma AZ, and were sitting there when another RV pulled in, and the tow bar was still hooked to the hitch but no car, so dad went up, and asked the guy about it and he didn't realize it wasn't back there said " it was there when we left" oops.
If you check the Rv dealers you will find that the have a system that uses the breaks in the vehicle being towed. I dont know the price on these but it might be cheaper than a gn for now.
well braking isn't my concern! i know for a fact i would be able to stop. my biggest concern is sway control and turning in town.
if i was gonna rent a trailer i would *** a few hundred bucks and buy one myself....not to mention most of those trailers are too skinny for an 8" wide truck like mine!
i'll just keep looking for a g/n (i am gonnna get one somehow or another one day anyways), i mean that was the sole purpose of buying my PSD.... to tow with
you might try watching the paper or bulliten boards for farm auctions alot of farmers have gn trailers for hauling hay etc, and they might be a good place to find one although you will probably have to rewire it (farmers are terrible about keeping that kinda stuff up I know from personal experience) but taking the time to rewire a trailer would be worth it for the saving sometimes
personally I am looking for one with tandem duals, and 10k axles but them are rather expensive.
yea that's about what i am looking for tandem duals but something more like 12K total trailer GTWR, i am not looking to haul houses, just equipmet and my rigs. also i plan to rewire the trailer unless it is brand new just so i know what kind of condition the wiring is in! i have had a couple of bad experiences pulling trailers with no lights!!!
