Mazda 3 2.3l

I've been driving a 4 cly 2.3L Mazda 3 with an automatic the past few days and noticed that the power seemed good at lower elevations but when I got to 7000 feet where I live seems some power is gone and a bit slow to respond under acceleration. I'm assuming that the thinner air at altitude is the problem. Is there any way to get this back. A quick turn on a fuel to air mixture screw? Any help is appreciated . . . as normal.

It's just the thinner air as you mentioned. Your best bet is Forced Induction.

There isn't much you can do outside of sticking a supercharger or turbo on it. Nearly every vehicle made in the past 15 years is fuel injected, so there's no mixture screw to turn, the computer automatically adjusts the fuel/air mixture to the best mixture for the conditions.

I wouldn't worry about it.

Yep, it's normal. I took a ford focus to 13000 ft. once, actually it went to 12000 ft. then I walked the rest of the way because it barely had enough power to keep the engine turning let alone move the car at that altitude.
