Quick question, any input would be helpfull.
I have a 2001 f350 SD. SRW, solid front axle. Yesterday I put new Pads and Rotors on the front. They started to squeak this morning. What would cause this? New equipment shouldn't do this should it?
well i always put the no squeak between the pad and the piston. i had the same thing happen to me. i also bought cheap pads. they will cause this and creat alot of dust as well. you might want to pull the pads and scuff them on the concrete, and put some no squeak between the pad and piston. be sure to clean and grease your caliper pins too. that should fix it. but i left my alone and it eventually went away. oh and if you decide to get better pads dont get the pads that never wear out or the ones that are made of porcelian(sp?). they are harder than you rotor and will cut the rotors down. thus wearing out the rotor.
