Dipstick fell out!?
I went to check my oil the other day and when I went to pull the dipstick out, the whole thing came out! Has this ever happened to anyone else? Is it just pressed in? Can I buy a new one and put it back in myself? The truck is a 1987 F-150, 302 EFI, manual trans 4X4.

Yeah, it just pushes in, but on mine the dipstick tube has a retaining ring on it that goes behind a bolt on the driver's side exhaust manifold. I would imagine you could get one from a dealer or possible from a junkyard. It's not difficult to put in. You might look around on your manifold and see if you see any missing bolts.
