I am looking into making a front mounted hitch for my '94 F-150 4x4 and am curious if anyone has done this and how you mounted it? Right behind the bumper is a piece of angle welded to the frame, would this be strong enough to mount the hitch to?

The front hitch was pretty simple for my F350. It uses both the frame rails and the those 2 brackets you talked about as support. My DrawTite is rated for a 9000 lb winch pull and 500 lbs max weight carrying (tongue weight), if I remember correctly. The etrailer site has pictures of the actual hitch for each model of truck. I thought that was really cool!
