Battery Cable Clamp replacement
Battery Cable Clamp replacement
ok, heres the deal, the main positive battery connector on the passenger battery on my '95 pretty much crapped out/coroded off on me a month ago or so and its been held on with a c-clamp
. i went to my International dealer for a new clamp setup and found a clamp with 2 openings. now, when i got it, i didn't have my truck because it was in the shop andi didn't see that there was a 3rd smaller wire comin out of the clamp block. i'm guessing this is the alternator wire? can it be spliced into the new 2-fer block or do i need to go back to International and look for somethin better like a 3-fer? i'm not much an electrical whiz
, so i don't wanna do anything stupid and blow up my baby

Yeah, it doesn't matter whether the primary off the alternator is tied in with the battery cable, or seperate, as long as it is tied in. My ranger had just one cable tied to the battery, so the alternator tied in somewhere downstream, and it worked just fine. Just make sure, especially on this motor, that you get a GOOD connection to pass the mass amounts of power that the glow plugs/starter pull...
