first timer with a oldtimer '69er
I recently was given my Grandfathers '69 F-250 2wd and would like to restore it, but not to factory condition. I want to do some upgrades and dont know where to start. the first thing I want to do is convert the front brakes to disc (keeping in mind) that I want to lower the whole truck 2-3 inches. do I need to buy a new aftermarket kit or can I use a later year front end???

73 to 79 you can get the whole front suspension as a unit and bolt it right in. get a parts truck and get all the little doodads that go with the swap. its fairly simple just look at the front end and make sure the parts and seals are in good shape and no slop in the king pins. use new bushings when you swap it and all is good.
