since I only have the 3 gears... I was wandering if they are shiffting correctly.
If I am going 40 mph and floor it, the trans will downshift into 2nd. Once I go over 40 mph and floor It, it will not down shift. The RPMS are only at 2500 and it does not have enough rpms to pass . If I mannualy do it, it feels right! it jumps up to about 3000 rpm and takes off. Next example. If I floor it and let the truck run through all 3 gears. It changes gears at about 3900 rpm. Shouldn't it go higher than that? If so what should I do?
It doens't sound like it's having a problem. You can adjust when it shifts by turning the modulator adj screw. Clockwise for later, counterclockwise for earlier. The adjustment screw is inside the vacuum inlet on the modulator on the right side of the tranny. Also, check your throttle linkage. Mine was not reaching full throttle and the trans didn't want to downshift because the carpet was keeping the pedal from going all the way down. I bent the linkage a little it works great .
