Rebuilding post fire
Well I've almost got a settlement from my insurance company so it's time to start buying parts etc for my rebuild. I had previously posted about my truck catching fire. The insurance company totaled it but that was rediculous. I have even turned over the engine since the fire just to see what would happen. Sounds fine to me. The hood is scortched, but it was already needing work. Anyway I digress. I want to build the perfect engine. I will probable buy a short block that is already bored 30 over. But I was thinking of putting a different cam in. According to others, if I had a cam that held the exhaust for another couple of degrees I would get more HP and the engine would breath better. I don't want to have to keep replacing parts so this time I want to use "Good" parts. Everything I have installed in the past from Autozone or O'reilly has had to be replaced at least twice. If you were building from a short block and keeping it street legal and emissions legal what parts would you use?
