Steering column---need help
Since I have ownedmy truck, I have wonderd about puting a tilt steering column in it. Is there an easy way to do this? I think th 71 f100 I had in high school had a Lincoln tilt column in it, but I dont think it fit right. I got rid of that truck in '89.
Mine is a 72 F350 Automatic. does anyone have any ideas?

the columns from 73 to 39 will bolt up but the wiring is a little different , some of the guys on here should be able to give you a diagram or you could do a search to get the info. it can be done with little trouble.

JL, Ford made tilt columns for the pickups in 78 & 79 that are a direct bolt up in your truck provided you have the same era power steering gear. I have looked at some car columns and believe several might be made to work. I don't have a place to research this so I have only looked and pondered.
The wiring issue is a minor concern and if you can lace a pair of high top boots you can figure it out.
