Picked up this 89 F-250 4x4 Heavy Duty last week with a straight 6, 5 speed/OD, and a snowplow for $350. Has a little rust not much but the clutch is burned. I've been looking at all the internet parts suppliers and I always get this option of which size 10" or 11". How do I know which one I have without tearing out the clutch to find out?

Tim,
Thanks for the warm welcome! And after looking better I guess I should have posted this in Performance related.
I am new to this Ford truck thing since I have been a Chevy truck man all my adult life, Still have the 63 Chevy truck that I'm rebuilding in the garage but I came across this 89 Ford 4x4 by chance, cheap, and I couldn't pass it up. Maybe I'll become a convert.
ksever, they will both work. the 11 will need different bolts for clearance which the supplier of the clutch should give you. If they do not, do a search for LUK clutchs and they have the bolt size listed that you will need. hope this helps
I have an 89 4X4 4.9L just replaced the clutch. I bought a heavy duty LUK 11" - I will save you a headache. When the tranny was pulled off we learned that the stock disc/pressure plate were 10". As ford4.9 indicated you will need bolts for the 11" disc/pressure plate. I bought my clutch kit from dial-a-clutch.com and they forgot to send me the bolts for the 11" set. Luckily, we had some extra bolts available but it set us back a day or so..good luck!
