I live in Iowa and when it gets -10 and colder my radiator leak a small bit of anti-freeze when idling. I was wondering if thats a known default that it develops a hair line crack when the tempurature is cold and when it warms up, no more leak. I donno should I be at all concerned ?
The plastic ends are contracting at a different rate than the body of the radiator, the seal goes bad after a while and cause leaks, you can live with it or replace it.

the problem is that the headers are epoxied on. as the years go on the epoxy lifts. your problem will only get worse. believe me, i had the same problems for along time. i was just living with it until this year when the darn thing would start leaking at 40 degrees outside. your best bet would be to replace the radiator now or you might as well buy stock in prestone.
Modine welds the headers on the radiator so they are the best bet. make sure it has a lifetime warrenty.
if you havent done so yet, might as well replace the hoses and t stat while the coolant is drained.
good luck
