Patriots or Eagles

Oh my God, I'm choking to death here.....
I can only guess Jr., that you really posted that as a joke...
No, the Pats really aren’t that good; only 3 titles in 4 years good, that’s all.
Oh, and by the way, how many titles to the Eagles have?? I'm just curious... OH, Wait a moment! Now I remember, N-O-N-E, Zero, Zip, Nada, Bupkis,
Remember, NOBODY LIKES A WHINER!! (But I love to gloat...)

McNabb himself has said nothing, TO has said nothing, and who cares what Freddie Mitchell says, he likely won't be an Eagle next year anyway.
I haven't seen a single report that indicates any of the Eagles are whining, let alone any kind of a "TO crybaby effect". That's in your head.
If McNabb was actually playing while physically ill like Hank Fraley said, that's pretty impressive. I view it as compliment to his toughness, not as an excuse, and certainly not whining. Again, McNabb hasn't said a word, nor has anyone on the Eagles' staff.
On top of that, TO played an incredible game considering the guy had an injury that would end a lot player's seasons if it had happened in the first couple weeks.

As one who lives in the immediate Philadelphia area (Jersey right over the Whitman Bridge) its kind of funny to read some of the opinions that are being expressed in this thread and another one on this board.
The Eagles lost plain and simple. The Patriots played a very good game. They were able to shut down Westbrooke. I give props to the Patriots coaching staff and the players.
As I stated somewhere else on FTE, it is difficult to win in the regular season let alone in the SuperBowl if you are intercepted 3 times and fumble 3 times. In that regard, the Eagles beat themslves, along with the Pats.
McNabb aint saying "boo" about being sick or exhausted or anything. Its the offensive players who were out on the field with him that are talking. This isn't the first time that McNabb got sick while playing in Jacksonville by the way.....
T.O. isn't talking either. If he was, the local papers would be all over it. Nothing coming out of his mouth.
Freddy Mitchell is......never mind.....Lets just say he prolly won't be back next year!!
Your team won, and thats great. Are they a dynasty? I think so, as do alot of other sports fans.
Congratulations, now go root for the Sox. Now thats a team that I would like to see win 3 championships.

Ok Waxy, I did read that the lineman & Freddie Mitchell were the ones who said McNabb was sick in the final quarter. Maybe I was a little harsh on my comments about the Eagles but regardless of who said it the fact remains that the comment is making excuses without really making excuses. It's a form of whining without actually whining. I don not believe for one second that McNabb was ill in the fourth quarter. He just simply didn't get the job done just like many other quarterbacks, far better than he, who failed once they got to the big game. It still doesn't change the fact that he can't run a good 2 minute offense. He's still a good player and has made some serious strides in maturing as a quarterback and that is primarily his biggest weakness at this point. Then if you really want to get techincal let's not forget that all those turnovers were just bad luck as much as they were forced turnovers. The Patriots made McNabb look ordinary which is no small feat and let it be known that McNabb still could not defeat the Patriots who were so desperately missing its starters on the defensive side of the ball. So even if he was ill the fact he was going up against a depleted secondary makes both sides even. Still he was not ill like he was in Jacksonville and that does not automatically mean he was ill this time. It just shields his mistakes for the time being that's all. Like I said before there's no shame in losing to the best team in football but stories such as this weak illness bit should not even be brought up regardless of who said it. Like Troy Aikman said there should be no excuses this is the Superbowl. Period.
I never bashed TO's game and in face I applaud him for doing it. To me it shows that athletes can come back faster. Most athletes more often then not opt to side out and collect a steady paycheck rather than stick their necks out like TO did. TO did have an outstanding game and hopefully it opens eyes for other athletes who milk their time.
Just for the record the Patriots are not my team. I'm not a bandwagon jumper. I just rather have them as champions than your beloved "Iggles".
You're awfully emotionally tied to this for a guy that isn't a Pats fan.
Why would Donovan come out and say, "Yeah I was tired/sick, that's why I played poorly." THAT would be whining. The classy thing to do, which is what McNabb always does, is simply to deny it or say no comment. Maybe that's my rose coloured glasses though.
As for whether you believe it or not, no offense, but who cares.
I'm not sure myself, but I've seen the Eagles in a 2 minute drill before, and no NFL team's 2 minute drill is that bad, the Dolphins would do a better job LOL. Makes me think something was wrong. Regardless, McNabb and the Eagles aren't making excuses (other than maybe Fraley, but I think he was complimenting McNabb's toughness, not making excuses, again, could be my perspective, but why would a Pro Bowl center lie about his QB?), and nor am I. It was a great game, and could have gone either way, but they lost, plain and simple.
They'll be back next year.
Anyhoo, I'll leave it at that.

I guess I'll leave it at that too.
