How much can I pull?
I am looking to buy a 1980 F150 XLT 4X4. It has a 351 with an automatic and an 8 ft bed. I would have to trailer it home with a 1988 F-250 Diesel and a 16 ft trailer. I need to know if this truck will fit on the trailer and if the Diesel has enough stuff to get it back here. Thanks...Andy

Well, a guy that had my truck before me towed around a Nascar in the trailer for about a year... and I've only got an F-150 with a 302... '85.. but I can't say it was good for it

Double check the width of the trailer and the width of the truck. I hired a guy to haul my 1980 4x4 home and it was too wide to fit on his trailer. Years later I needed to haul it again in an emergency and went to rent a u-haul car carrier and he said their trailers wouldn't haul most pickups because they are too wide. A friend has a homemade car trailer that is unusually large and I measured it, and my truck would barely fit with the stock rims, and with aftermarket 8" rims and 31x10.50 tires, the tire would be overhanging the trailer a little bit.
