Hi all, I have a 94 Bronco. The passenger side mount on the dash broke, since it's made of plastic. Does anyone have an idea on how to repair it? The price of a new dash is totally unreasonable. I was thinking of making a metal bracket to lock around the dash where the old one broke with a tab to replace the broken mount to the body. Outside of that, I'm stumped. Any help will be totally appreciated.
There is a factory repair for this common problem...
But I used the prefab metal angle from Home Depot with the holes pre-punched. I got the guage that's thin enough to cut with aviation snips and trimmed a new bracket. It's holding so far.
That thing drove me crazy everytime I got on a bumby road. I used some type of heavy duty epoxy glue and it is still holding today. The mounts are made of plastic so the epoxy bonded right to it. Use a lot of glue!
It's a good cheap fix.
Good luck!

We are talking about the dash on the passenger side shaking and stuff? Man I didnt know what the hesk it was. can someone let me know in a little more detail where to put the glur or the bracket. I hate it when on my dirt roads and the thing looks like it is going to rip off the truck.
I epoxied my passenger dash mount over five years ago and the last time I checked it is still holding strong. I just found the strongest epoxy I could and placed a thick layer on the mount.
i had the same issue when i bought my truck. i took a piece of flat scrap metal and bent it into an "L" shape and drilled whole at both ends. I drilled a whole in the under part of the dash where the orginal plastic bracket broke. I bolted the "L" to the dash and then used the stock whole in the body to bolt it up. that thing will never break again. good luck
Same problem here. every now and then I hit a bump and the dash moves up and down and makes a hell of crack sound.
So epoxy glue seems to be the answer. Ill give it a shot first
If not to late, I just did that mod (Fix) to my sons 95 Bronco. Got the kit from FOrd dealer and about 1 hour and its fixed right. The kit only cost about $25.00 and consists of a metal bracket and 3 rivets and instructions.
I have to bring this one back from the dead. I had this issue happen to me. After a little riggin', the passenger side problem is long gone. A couple hundred miles later, the center of my dash starts jumping around over bumps. It is bad enough that CD's skip, and has become extremely annoying. Has anyone ran into this? I need to find a way to make the entire dash a stationary object again...
