My 97 PSD F-350 4x4 CC s manual 5spd seems to stumble off idle and does not seem like it has full power. Also, I think the exhaust smells rich.
Sinci I am a new user, I may be way off. I just finished swapping the utility bed from my F-250/350 300 CID 4x4 Manual.
I have caluclated that so far the unit weighs in just a little under 12,000 lbs so that may be part of why it seems low on power. I am not real familiar with how the monsters act under load.
I still have about 1500 lbs of equipment to add before I am done completely.

Hey! It should still pull like a mule! That stumble could be many things, I would suggest starting with a major maintenance like filters, CORRECT OIL and clear codes. If it still occurs, check for codes then check that fuel pressure! Fuel pressure related problems probably account for most no code drivability problems, diesel or gas. Good luck, Tony D.
Heey! Check the fuel pressure for sure! My old 95' with over 200k was rough, stumbled, blah blah blah, after I replaced the fuel pump it'll snap your neck on take-off, spin the tires on the 1-2 shift and'll whoop most ricearoni's at a light. Full size back doors F350 crew cab 2wd single rear wheel, only mod a punched converter and chip.
