I Have An 85- 6.9 I Have Replaced All Of The Glow Plugs I Put The Pump In Time With Engine [ The Mark On The Bolt Flange With The Mark On The Housing ] But Same Problem In Morning I Use The Glow Plugs For 1.5- 2 Min Will Not Start Must Use Starting Fluid Starts RIGHT Up. Let It Warm Up And You CanT Release The Key Quick Enough Starts Right Up. But Let It SIT 1/2 Hour Or Longer Must Use Starting Fluid To Start When Running It Sound Great Idles Smooth I Just Bought Truck It Was Warm When We Went To See And Test Drive Can Anyone One Tell Me Where To Start Trouble Shooting It [help ]

thank for getting back to me plc7.3 no we are shorting out to solenoid with power behind battery just found out where controller is on driver side head will have to order one or junk yard it today but for today or untill it comes in. will hook up push button today think the same way power to solenoid

You should check those new glo plugs as 1.5-2mins is way too long(unless you used constant duty plugs).On the coldest day they should only be on for 12-15 seconds.I think you may have burned up the gp's.What brand plug did you use,motorcraft/beru i hope,(btw these are not constant duty)if not you may as well replace them again.
You have to stop shooting starting fluid in the engine...especially if you have been cooking the GP's for that long. I think you may have a fuel delivery problem....but try using wd-40 instead of the ether so you dont blow yourself up.
