trans making weird noise
HEy there got a weird problem i just noticed i own a 1995 f-150 4x4 witht he mazda 5 speed, i just put a remanufactued one in last april, it now has about 15k miles on it i dont know why but i had it in neutral and i reved the engine when it got to about 2300 and above it made this weird noise like a somthin metal was spinning kinda like when you turn on a bench grinder now all my gears work fine they all go in gear and stay in gear, any thouts on what it might be, i have a 1 year warrenty unlimited miles in the trans so if its goin id like to know. also i noticed wen i have it in reverse and i have to put a lot of stress on it like to pull someone out of a ditch it makes a grinding noise a different one, But it doesnt do this on normal reverse only when i try and pull soeone out or give it a lot of gas while realesing the clutch, whats that all about, well any thought would be awesome thanks alot

I have a similar noise and the same tranny. A bunch of folks told me that it's the Input Shaft Bearing within the tranny. It runs fine, it just makes a loud, noisy, "whirling sound". The responses that I received didn't sound too promising. Good luck.
