Sticking accelorator

hi fellas ive got a 97 f150 with a 4.6 five speed. Over the last two days my accelorator has stuck 4 times! what could be the problem. ive heard maybe a dirty throttle body? thanks

Could also be the cable; you've let it go about 3 times longer than I would before having it looked at!!!
