Heater Problems

Hello, I.m new to the site. I would like to ask about why I can't get the heater to put out warn heat? I have a 92 Ford Van 5.0 L . I warmup the engine and turn on the heater , it put out great heat for 5 seconds then it gradually cools down . I replaced the thermostat and flushed the radiator and block. A radiator shop guy said he thought it was one of the doors . I did find a clip spring and a small end cap hose on the floor . Any help would be appreciated or know where I can get a drawing on the inter parts of the heater would be great. Thanks the butcher

Welcome to FTE. Any vacuum leaks? Did you check out the blend door fix at the top of the page? I'm not sure what your heater is like but it might help. Good luck with it.

I did see the article at the top of the page and I'm going take the heater cover off
hopefully today. I don't hear any vaccum leaks , but there was a small cap (plug)
hose -about an inch long , 1/4 inch in diameter , I found on the floor under the heater.
Anyway I will let you know what I find . f1butcher
