door switchs light relay
Does anyone know what triggers the relay that turns the lights on that are located inside the buttons on the doors for the locks and windows? Are they supposed to come on as soon as the headlights are turned on. Mine seem to come on whenever they feel like it. I can turn the lights on in the morning and sometime during my 15 minute commute the darn things will decide to come on. They do not go off when lights are turned off nor when the truck is turned off. They only go off once the door is opened. That is what makes me think they are on a relay. Any ideas?

hi, well, i cannot totally help you out on this one. however, i can tell you how mine act. they do turn on when the lights are turned on, and they only turn off when i open my door also. i can only imagine that they stay on after i turn off the truck to see where they are ( i am still able to roll up the windows until i open my door also ), so i guess that it is set up that way incase you forget to roll up the windows. i do not know why yours turn on only sometimes though. i would agree that maybe a bad relay....... sorry i couldnt help more.

Ok I checked the manual and it only list a fuse for the door lock and window switches. Mine looks fine. So where is the relay? I know it has one because the lights don't go off even after headlights are turned off until the door is opened. Anyone? I am a nut about details and this is driving me crazy.
