Bh 550 Quad is working on a unit that will give the driver control of the transmission. I did some betta testing on the new 125, some versions had problems with shifting. Call quad up and ask about an upgrade just be advised that the Transmission doesnt hold up well with the 160 Quad. I would also check into the SCT I have it from a reliable sourece that this thing is awesome and has spot on shifting even better than the predator.
i dont want race type shifting, i want defueling between shifts and solid gear changes. so when i have 26,000-28,000 hooked on the back, it doesnt spit the tranny out like a wad of copenhagen!!
i really like the 125 quad, and want to keep it. im interested in a separate unit to fix the tranny.
when its in 125 and i punch it from a rolling stop, it has NO idea what to do.......it just screams and screams and doesnt shift..... then it flashes the tranny light and kicks into neutral. when u stop and restart it, it is fine again, but it hates WOT in the 125. the tranny needs a pep talk
Get a flash tuner and throw the fuel box in the trash can. SCT or SCMT is looking pretty good right now. Just my opinion though.
i dont want a "tuner" i want the ability to flip a switch and go fast or hook to a trailer and not have to worry about the tranny relearn stuff. plus the quad makes better power than any of the tuners ive riden with.
and the sct is 700 bucks.
and the scmt doesnt work on a 550(at least the used ones i can afford dont) and they shift WAAAAAAY to hard and high.
Not trying to start anything just look at what your saying. Try calling a few places and see if you can get a custom tune to work stacked with your fuel box.
Flash tuner is the way to go on the 6.0, but if you like flippin a switch. As of right now I do not remember anyone offering a seperate box for the trans.

I would have to agree with Bighoss the shifting with a tuner in HP mode (which is where the power is at) is way to harsh for trailering.
I towed my gooseneck empty, but did use WOT a couple times and now I have a slight vibration in the driveline. I think I may have twisted the driveshaft a little or at least thrown it out of balance.
Yes, what about a laptop????
I would also like to know if there is a way to lock in a gear with some kind of controller so that on a dyno you could accurately lock in 5th(4th gear) for better results.
you could always try out the new bully dog power pup flash tuner and outlook monitor.the power pup has 3 levels of tranny perfromance, race, stock type defuel feel and softer than stock.best part is when towing you can use the outlook monitor to shift on the fly...yes i did say shift on the fly with a flash tuner, and the bottom end power is close to the pred and inline modules...
