Copied and pasted from the site: DIESEL PURGE - THE STRONG MEDICINE FOR SICK DIESELS
Properties: Designed and formulated for simple on the engine cleaning of clogged injectors and for restoring good performance. Contains a high level of detergents to unclog the injectors and to restore the right fuel spray pattern. Raises the fuel ignitability (cetane number) for an immediate improvement of acceleration, lowering exhaust smoke and power response.
Benefits: Improved starting, idling, response and acceleration. Reduction in engine noise and injector clatter. Reduction in visible smoke, particulates and other exhaust pollutants. Improvement in fuel economy, reduction of break downs and repairs. An excellent preparation for the smog test.
Another option would be to remove the fuel filter cap, pull out the filter, drain the water separator, and refill the canister with straight Stanadyne. Replace the filter and cap, and fire 'er up. For the first few seconds you'd be running on straight Stanadyne, which will clean your injectors very nicely.
That's what big rig mechanics do. I've heard it from a number of them.
Just a though i heard about today form an internatonal diesel mec. I was talking to today. he said to run a 1quart of ATF through evrey few thousand miles. he said on a fill up that is almost empty add 1 quart to the fuel tank, sound fishy to me. but its from a good source. what are your alls thoughs on that idea. J
wy go to stanadyne.com and read there fuel treatment q&a and there comparisons, this is strait from the injector manufaturer. i only run stanadyne performance through my trucks. makes it so i can run #2 year round also, no matter where i am. ATF is actually a solvent but you get more ash residue from burn off so your adding more crud to the inside of your motor. also the stanadyne is the only one ford and navistar approve of for use.
Well I had I was shoeing horses for this guy and we were talking truck and thats what he said to do, I was not sold on the idea but he works for international so
I figuerd I'd run it by all here see if you all had heard of it. thanks for thie info on stanadyne J
