Ok guys.... I got a stupid question. I got a friend with a 2000 F-150 4x4 off road pkg. It has a 4.6 in it. I popped the hood on it because he has an insufficent coolant temp code. I believe it was a P0125. Well here's the funny thing.... I was looking at the motor and it has a COP setup on it! Since when does Ford use the COP setup on the 4.6? I know the 99 has standard ignition because I just changed plugs and wires in my father in laws truck. Any help would be appreciated! I'm confused!!!!!!!!!!!
I appreciate the help. I told him that he needed a Thermostat also. I spend alot of time on the Expedition Forum. I was familar with the code when he told me what it was. I was just showing him what needed to be removed to get to the thermostat and I noticed the COPS. I was really thrown by it!
Plugs aren't too special, but the coils are quite expensive. When you think about it, that's a tough place to put a coil (major heat and vibration; good chance of water contamination).
