I have to tighten my emergency brake. After looking at it and trying to turn the nut it wouldn't turn.So I have liquid wrench on it. I though that I had better check to make sure that this is the way of tighting it up .After pushing it it it just does slow it.This is the adjustment right

My truck is a 77 f250. I am going to take my comercial driver test an everything has to be in good shape and working. My only thing is the emergency break. At 5 mph it has to stop your truck. Mine need to be tighten up.
Went to U pull it today to get a overflow cantainer for radator over flow. There was a clean grill 78-79.Came close to getting it.I saw one in a 77.He said it was easy to swap,But my 77 grill is in great shap so I think I will stick with it .

tighten up your rear brakes and it'll tighten up your e-brake. my rear brakes weren't even working until my uncle adjusted them now i only have to push the e-brake half way instead of all the way to the floor. now when i step on the brake it stop flat instead of throwing you to the dash. i'm not sure but there is a linkage you should be able to tighten the ebrakes alone that is underneath the bed of the truck there is a linkage that you should be able to adjust just in front of the rear axle about a foot or so. Hope this helps.
I agree with Aaron, try adjusting the rear brakes. It'll probably stop better using the service brakes too, if they are in fact out of adjustment. My e brake was going all the way to the floor before I adjusted my rear brakes. After adjusting, my e brake set half way to the floor.
