Would you put egr fender flares on new f 250? I would not paint the flares because the factory finish matches the rest of the plastic parts on truck. Would the flares be a place for rust? You can take on and off to clean and wax twice a year. I took a flare and put it up to the truck and I liked the look. Please give me your thoughts. The truck is a 250 cc 4x4 sb true blue.
eventually they will rust out. my friend has a 04 250 Fx4 w/ 6.0 SRW and he has the pocket style flares from bushwaker and they look awesome. they do keep dirt and grime in there but if you take them off once or twice a year and wash them really good then it's not a problem.
I've got a set on my f-350 that were on my original 99 and that I later used on my 02 when I traded it in. So they are 6 years old and still look good.
It is nice to be able to remove them for cleaning but the clips used to attach them without drilling constantly fall out.
I had to write EGR to get another bag of clips to replace the ones I lost.
Once the clips run out I guess I'll have to screw them on.
Another thing I noticed besides cleaning them out a lot is that the rubber gasket on the flare eventually leaves a mark on the clearcoat of the fender. The best I could describe it would be it's like a hazy scratch.
Hope this helps.
