HELP HELP 1995 f150 4x4 I instaled a new switch not knowing i did not have to take the stering wheel off with air bag. Put everything back after finding the hole to releaase the switch pulled broke one out now after instaling new one truck turns over yet will not start. I did not take batt cables off DUH..... Whats Wrong
Check fuses for ignition and PCU computer one could be blown; also ignition switch could be slightly out of adjustment allowing the switch to engage starter but not get voltage to accessory feed - do you get all dash lights in "run" light test mode? Switch, actuator should line up to index on column in run if you can see anything on column under dash. Does fuel pump run for about 2 seconds in "run"? The steering wheel work shouldn't have affected engine running. Good Luck.

there is a little wire strip inside were the switch goes that seams to make contact with ingnition switch what is its purpose. could that be a problem it goes to a black wire in column

I think that little strip is for the key in ignition buzzer, it doesn't have anything to do with the starting. Definitely check fuse box, especially the PCM(ECM) and any fuse for ignition.
If you are talking about the Key lock cylinder in the upper steering column the wire (black/pink) in that area should be the key warning chime lead - goes to contact on the lock cylinder only and shouldn't Keep engine from running. From your initial post I take it that the starter engages and turns the engine, but engine doesn't start running. Check for fuel pump run and spark at your plugs. If those are ok See if you can pull any codes - lots of links to getting codes for check engine light in this forum (Sorry I need to learn to add links to these threads). Post back
I will check all these things thanks It is really strange it still run with the old ing switch before just had a key broke off. trading in today and need to get it started. if all fuses are good and spark how to i get these codes for check engine
