2001 4.0 timing chain question
Hi,I noticed today that when my engine is cold i hear a loud noise that sounds like major spark knock over 2000 rpms and under pretty heavy load(like the gas pedal half way down). this sound goes away when the engine warms up.Is this the symptoms of the timing chain?

I wouldn't expect a bad timing chain on this new a truck unless you have a lot of miles. Have you tryed any injector cleaner in your gas tank, maybe you need to have some diagnostics done on your electrical system to see if your crank angle sensor is bad or O2 sensor.

I just got the truck back last week from getting the exhaust valve springs replaced.I took it in for the check engine light for multiple cylinder missfire and they said everything else was good.I just greased the aluminum driveshaft splines(what a difference) and went for a ride and im thinking maybe something in the exhaust.Its hard to tell because it only does it under load.
