Ya know, I originally clicked on your name (crab) and i viewed your gallery and I still couldn't find it...I think I couldn't find it because it just said "van". I know I'm an idiot, but maybe next time for us new people here name it something like "van pics"...so it catches our eye.

Crab

For some reason my browser will not show the pictures. Could you please email them to me? My son is quadrapeligic and I have outfitted a 92 E-150 with a braun lift. My son is hoping to be able to drive again in the future I would love to see the photos of how it was done.
We are also from NJ and DVR will not pay for a retrofit like that on a 92 van, even though it has a brand new engine. I guess I will have to buy a later model van if I want DVR to pay for the retrofit.
Thanks for any info and pictures you can send me.

Thumbs up Trouble seeing all the pictures

Hey crab, great looking ride!! I am having some problems seeing the pictures and the video, can you E-Mail them to me? I am in the process of putting the floor pan system in my '91. Having read this thread from the beginning I see how many people are interested and will put some pictures of the old style floor pan they used before the dropped floor. I wanted to tell you to enjoy the ride, you waited and paid enough, so relax and keep on trucking! Check for my E-mail address and send those pictures please. kevin-11

If you can transfer from your wheelchair, it's cost effective to buy a 6 way power seat base and have it installed in the drivers seat location and back the chair next to it, and transfer into it. I have an E-350 with hand controls, wheelchair lift, power doors and 6 way power seat base, the cost was around $5000 installed, lift and seat base were used, 4 years and still functioning. I had to buy my van and equipment, nothing was free to me, I'm disgusted with everything designed for the handicapped costing a fortune, they think we are rich.

Smile No Transfer seat for ME

Hey Mapleo1, I can't use a six way seat, to old too tired to transfer.lol I bought the 1991 E-150 Hi Top, 5.0 V8 off ebay for $2,850 has extended side barn door and a 5 year old lift. Got the pan out of my old '89 and it should not be to hard to put in. I will post some pistures when I get a chance. You have the part about how much the providers charge for thier some times poor workmanship. I am fortunate to have some good friends and the know how to do most of it myself. Best investment for me was a 110v mig welder with gas. Saved my bath chair and wheelchair along with all those little jobs around the house. Like they say we are not disabled we are diffrently abled!! I can't see giving my money to some guy who thinks he knows what I need.

I so badly want my floor dropped, just my cargo area is nuts, they charge $2500 for the floor, the tank removal and replacement in the rear is $1500. I found the rear tank used by the shops on line once for $300, and it can't be that difficult to lengthen the lines to the rear. I wish I knew people to help me do my floor, I can't sit in my wheelchair because my head is bent down by the roof, and a hightop is not an option on an already tall vehicle, but cost almost 1/2 of the dropped floor price, seems ridiculous.

Hi dvf, I had a hard drive failure, so I lost the originals

I made a crappy little video today, you can sorta see how I control things. The beeping you hear is the digitone system...I was shutting off my right blinker. I'll make a video explaining everything like that better.

Exclamation Lowering Floor and it's Process

Hey Crab, I love the way the van came out. I posted before about how they raised the body from the frame. I know they replaced the gas tank, and put in spacers between the body and frame. what else was involed when they raised it? Extend the brake lines, trans shifter. There must be someone if not you that can fill in the blanks about the process. This way we all could learn more for the rest of us. Also to the fellow who wants to have his van equipped for his son to drive I would cosider a floor pan, as I have describe in an earlier post. I am getting ready to put one in my 1994 E-150 and will update the post. Sorry Crab did not mean to grab the post. Just that all the different ways to get things done are many. I think that if we as enthusiasts are able to do the mods ourselves we should share the knowledge. Still waiting for the particulars on your conversion. Peace Kevin-11
