tires

<!--StartFragment --> well it is time to put tires on my old '96 F150 2wd. I am looking for something cheap as this is not my main vehichle and i just use it to go back and forth to work. I am looking at 4 different tires and just wanted to know if anyone had any experience with them.

1. BF Goodrich Radial Long Trail T/A $82.03

2. BF Goodrich Land Terrain LT $69.00 (on sale wal-mart)

3. Goodyear Wrangler RT/S $85.78

4. Dunlop Rover Rv Xt $ 82.78

I have had BF Goodrich before and was pleased and I have had Goodyear and wasn't very happpy with the life of them. I have never used these models so any imput (except buy more expensive tires, which i know are probably better but these tires are within the budget i want to spend.) would be appriciated.

To be honest, the walmart ones are probably the best for your use if you say it is not a daily driver. Any of them other than the Goodyear would be a decent tire.

Triplethreat: Strongly advise you to visit www.Tirerack.com. I have been doing business with them for a long time and never disappointed with either the product, price or service.

Tire Rack carries many brands. What is really nice is their rating system for each tire and the feedback from those who have purchased the tires. Tire Rack will UPS the tires right to your door or wherever you want. Around here Sam's Club or Wal Mart will mount and balance the tires for $9. each.

In my case, we have a fleet of Rangers and I use Kumho tires. They seem to be a good value and I do not have trouble with them. I have a set of Firestone Destination LE tires on my Ranger that are wonderful.

Even if you do not buy tires from Tire Rack the education from reviewing the different ones that are available is valuable.

RangerRuss, which Kumhos do you use? The all terrains or the highway all seasons? My 93 F-150 4x4 has done well witth Bridgeston Dueler HT's, but it's time to replace them and they're pricey. My 4 wheeling is mostly just on slick semi paved or hardpacked mud or pasture turf, so an AT tread is probably more aggressive than I need.
