Cruise Controll Problem

I have a 1992 F-150 5.8, A/T E4OD, 4x4. When I use my cruise control it works as far as maintaining speed. But if I come up on a hill or slight rise, it shuts down. It used to down shift to get back to speed, but now it just goes slower until I hit the gas. Also if I tap the gas before its speed drops to far it will then accelerate and hold until it gets back to speed. I hate having to do the accelerating for it though. Any Ideas, I have checked codes and none are present. Thank you for your help.

Most likely it's in the control switches. Door locks, wiper switch, turn signals, radio. One by one they all seem to conk out after 8 to 10 years. Some just sooner than others.

The switches seem to work fine. The cruise itself won't automatically speed up after being set. I can accelerate with the switch.

Do you have a spare CC servo laying around?

No, But I have a 88 mustang. Would the servo from that work. Is there another way to test it.
