PCV Problem?

On my 3.0L, I have observed some oil dripping on the sidewall of the Throttle Body when I opened up the throttle plate and shone a light inside. Is this normal, or does it mean my PCV valve is shot? I just replaced the PCV a few weeks ago with the cheapy Deutsch 210 from Autozone. When I shook the thing, I can see that the plunger is tilted to the side when it's supposed to be closed. Will this allow oil to be drawn from the valve cover into the Throttle Body via the PCV valve? When I pull the hose that connects the PCV and the TB, that hose looks pretty oily too. Now. I'm beginning to wonder if that's the cause of the rough idling I have been putting up with.

Does anyone have any idea?

Thanks

One thing I know is I got that cheap PCV valve too no problems with it yet but when I look inside it the spring and plunger is straight down the bottom hole you might want to get a screw driver and align it back in position or get a new one.

You might have a transmission fluid leaking into your engine. I don't know that to be a fact but you could. All I now is taht there is some diaghram on the transmission side that is supposed to keep the transmission fluid from leaking into the engine. That diaghram can fail. I recently had mine fixed and the mechanic replaced all the vacum hoses and the PCV because of contamination with transmission fluid. He said the my engine oil level was high because of that. Again, I don't claim to understand what the problem is but have a transmission guy (one you trust) take a look. You can also be having something totally unrelated. I am just giving you some possibilites.
An interesting thing I noticed is that before they fixed this problem, I used to hear this groaning sound from directly below the driver seat. Now, that noise is gone.
Good luck.

I think J is refering to the modulator it mounted on the side of the transmission and that can cause the tranny fluid to mix with your oil. Use the search feature I know theres a detailed post somewhere.

I don't think it's a modulator problem, since what I saw was not tranny fluid but real engine oil.
