Need help, again. DOH!

Well, i have finally started to fix my 1989 Ford Probe since my sister somehow killed the transmission in August. I got another tranny from a salvage yard and when i got to looking at it a little closer, i noticed it had an electronic speedo sencer insted of the cable operated one my car came with (the thing that goes in the tranny). I dont have the other transmission because they wanted the core for some reason. They said the trans that i got came out of a 1989 Probe with the 2.2l non turbo but i dont think the 89s came with electronic speedo. My question is, if i go back and get the correct part that i need, does anyone know if it will work or should i just return the trany and find the right one? By the way, DONT LET YOUR SISTER DRIVE YOUR CAR!

I think you need to return the tranny; the longer you wait to try and figure out how to make that one work, the less apt they are to accept it. Plus, if the original's gone, you have nothing to match it against. BTW, roger on the SISTER!
