Hi all.
I have a question, I have a 85 F250 x-cab with a 6.9 diesel.
As we all know it already has two batteries , I am running a lot of 12v
accesories and am wondering if I need to add a third , here is a little run down of what accesories I am running , am/fm/cd, 250 watt amp, onboard air system, 750 watt inverter, plus all the original powere accesories, I also have power windows and door locks if that matters. I plan on adding an on board welder, and a tv/dvd system.
The reason for all of the extras is the truck will be used as a race car hauler and I want to make sure I have everything I need in one neat package, (not only that I cant afford an enclosed trailer to store a compresser and generator yet and I Hate to load and unload them).
So any and all feedback would help, since I know very little to nothing about diesel's.
You're running alot of stuff. I would say run another battery in the back. Make sure it's run off an isolater and look into getting an alternator with alot of amps. A stereo shop will have some options. From my days in the Limousine bussiness, we used 185 amp Alt. made by Lestek. Dallas Texas is where they were. It's been a few years so not positive they are still around.
