Ok, so I've been looking for a headache rack for my '04 F250 and I haven't been too successful yet. The other day, thanks to another thread, I found the Tough Country louvered rack which I absolutely love, but with brake lights it's $750, and with brake lights and reverse lights it's $900 and I just don't have that budget.
I've seen weatherguard, back rack, and a few other major brands. I'm wondering if there's any smaller operations that I've missed?
I'd like it to be compatible with my weatherguard tool box. I do not want it to raise my tool box more than 1/2" max. Black is a must. I'd like brake and reverse lights in it. That's about it.
I got mine from a local place.. south texas outfitters.. not sure how the shipping would work all the way to you, as it would be one big deal.. assuming you want rails down the bed. I suppose it is worth checking into though. Their website is www.southtexasoutfitters.com. I will check and see If I have any good pics that show it.
good luck.
Take a shot of your's if you can. The only good pic I saw on the site was on that red dually, and I dunno, I don't like the way it looks. But it might just be the color on that truck. I wish they had some better pics.
Thanks! Oh, what was the cost without shipping for your's?
I know you mentioned that you didn't want to raise your box more than a half an inch, but I just installed a backrack on my SD... It looks REALLY nice!! I have a chest style tool box because I have a 5th wheel trailer and the over the bed boxes could contact the box when turning..
The in stall was poop simple.. A hand full of bolts and no drilling. If I can, I will get a pic tonight and put it in my gallery..
